Ms Marvel by gillykins Ms Marvel by gillykins
Costume Construction:

The bodysuit is made entirely using swimwear fabrics and is ready to wear in the water when/if I want. The bodysuit is made using a mystery swimwear fabric I found that has a slight shine to it, the suit is fully lined in swim liner. I inset Carol's symbol using metallic gold spandex. The red sash is made using polyester lining fabric, I wanted to sash to be light and catch the wind.
I found a great leather look spandex that I'm in love with (the stretch is FANTASTIC) I use it to make the gloves and boots. The boots are sewn into a pair of dance tights to stop them from riding down as well as creating a seamless appearance. My mask is made using craft foam heat formed to my face then painted with black nailpolish.

I think that your Ms. Marvel on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best, she is a 29.

Beautiful work on another smashing cosplay outfit. Very realistic and authentic in detail and design. If I ever saw you in one of your lovely cosplay outfits, I would have to politely ask for a photo because you really bring my fav. comic book characters to life!!!

I'm actually trying to get into Ms. Marvel. I saw her date with Spider man: she's a really frank, personable, and blue collar dish. I like her and I'm trying to find any famous comics--the best of the best runs on Ms. Marvel--to read. Know any?

I must say, your Warbird is one my my all time favorites.

I just recently made my first attempt at cosplaying her, and had a horrible experience with the boots I made. Sewing them into a pair of dance tights.... brilliant. Was it difficult? Can you tell me a bit more of your technique you did? I may have to try it next time. Other than making a huge mess with spirit gum, only for it to fail. Lol

Its not very difficult to do, but I don't think I can explain it very well without visual aid .... I should make a tutorial. I WILL MAKE A TUTORIAL FOR YOU!

That would be AMAZING and would help so much! I also feel like it will motivate me to actually remake this and try again, rather then stressing over it trying to get it to work. But thank you! :D

Oh it is not a problem! Sorry it took so long to respond! Thank you SO much! This helps A LOT. I just tested it out with my old pair of boots I made, and even though the first test run is pretty terrible up close, they stay up PERFECT. So again... Thank you so much for making a tutorial! :D

Great idea with the dance tights! Truly seamless effect (and extra coverage prevents wardrobe malfunction worries)!! Looks super comfy AND fabulous!

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. Carol Danvers is my all time favorite (especially as Warbird) and I feel like you totally captured her. Great job! I also loooove how you are not wearing stiletto heels... one of the things I cannot stand when people cosplay her.

Love it!

The boots are an awesome idea! I made myself a Zantanna costume but that would be awesome for the boots!

Dynamite costume. You can tell you put a lot of time into this great outfit. Really, really awesome. So, black nailpolish for the mask? Not to be a noob, but did that take a while to paint?

Luckly the mask isn't very large. I sat in front of the tv while painting the mask so time flew.
